What is Microdermabrasion?
Microdermabrasion is a skin revitalizing procedure that uses exfoliation to remove dull, dead skin cells from its outermost surface layer. It is used to treat a variety of skin conditions such as acne scars, fine lines, wrinkles, sun-damaged and age spots. Your skin will instantly feel softer, smoother and younger, with improved tone and color.
How does it work?
Microdermabrasion uses a highly controlled, powerful device to spray micro-crystals of aluminum oxide (corundum powder) across the skin’s surface. The aluminum oxide is a very fine, hard, sand-like material that blasts away the uppermost layer of dead skin cells on the epidermis. This action causes little to no pain, although there may be some discomfort around the sensitive areas of the nose and mouth. The procedure generally takes about 30 minutes, and afterwards the traces of corundum powder are vacuumed away.

What to expect
Microdermabrasion works best when performed as a series of treatments. Noticeable changes can be seen after the first treatment – usually smoother, healthier looking skin. After a series of treatments, oiliness is decreased, pores size is minimized, and areas of thick skin are thinner. Fine wrinkles may also appear smoother.
