Latisse Los Angeles

What is Latisse?

A leader in the industry, Latisse is currently the only FDA-approved eyelash growth treatment available for prescription use. This remarkable and innovative cosmetic product helps individuals enhance the fullness and thickness of eyelashes that are otherwise considered inadequate. Because Latisse naturally enhances eyelashes, individuals using the product would no longer need to use synthetic eyelashes.

Individuals choose Latisse because it is a safe choice with proven results. Applied daily at the base of the top eyelid’s lashes, this product delivers results in about two to three months. During this time, the lashes steadily grow and are soon noticeably longer, thicker and darker.

Latisse’s active ingredient bimatoprost drives the growth of eyelashes, significantly increasing the number of eyelashes growing as well as the length of time that eyelashes grow. Because the growth time is extended, the hairs have more time to get longer and fuller, therefore delivering the best possible results for individuals using the product.

Latisse is a safe solution; however, a common side effect is hyperpigmentation, which is when certain areas of skin become darker than other areas. This pigmentation is not permanent, as it will fade if product use is discontinued.

The Dermatology Institute of Southern California offers Latisse because it understands the need for fuller eyelashes.

To best meet all of your eyelash growth needs, the Dermatology Institute of Southern California has two office locations: one in Santa Monica and the other in Beverly Hills. We provide the most advanced and innovative skin care and cosmetic treatments for clients in West Hollywood, Playa Vista, Bel Air, Pacific Palisades, West Los Angeles, Malibu, Marina Del Rey, Culver City and Brentwood.

Latisse for Lash Enhancement

Each year, many people seek the assistance of a dermatologist for eyelash enhancement. Often, a condition called alopecia areata causes people to lose their eyelashes. Others may seek the treatment due to eyelashes that are sparse or inconsistent. For those seeking eyelashes that are longer, darker and fuller, and that have a healthier appearance, Latisse is an ideal option.

Latisse Treatment LA

Latisse is a product that has been designed to help replenish and increase the volume and appearance of one’s lashes. It is FDA-approved and has been used by many people with great success.

The Latisse solution is a prescription treatment that provides gradual results for as long as the person is using it. Typically, each night, after removal of make-up and/or contact lenses, the patient would apply the Latisse solution to the specific top eyelash area. Once they wipe the excess solution away, they are free to continue their normal routine.

Some patients report a slight itching sensation immediately following the application of the Latisse treatment. The Latisse solution is made of a 0.03% bimatoprost ophthalmic solution that is effective for treating hypotrichosis – in this case, not having enough eyelashes or having inadequate ones. Consistently applying the solution will help to grow hair in the area that has received the treatment.

Latisse – How it Works

If you have fewer eyelashes than you should, or no eyelashes at all, you may be recommended for a treatment referred to as Latisse. It is an FDA-approved treatment for those who need to grow or replenish their eyelashes. Latisse is a bimatoprost ophthalmic solution 0.03% and has been proven effective in helping people to grow lashes that are thicker, longer and fuller.

Latisse works by encouraging the hair growth phase (anagen), as well as by promoting more hairs to grow during the phase. Those who use the treatment for lash enhancement will need to follow the application directions. The prescription should be applied each night before bed, making sure that it is only applied to the areas where hair growth is wanted.

The Latisse treatment provides a gradual impact. Applied on a consistent basis each night, patients can expect to start seeing results in about eight weeks. Full results are usually visible around the 12- to 16-week mark. Lashes will continue to be encouraged to growth for the duration of the product use. Once the prescription is no longer being used, the lashes will gradually return to their pre-treatment state.

It is important to note that Latisse is not a replacement for using mascara. It is a lash enhancement treatment that promotes longer, fuller eyelash growth. The solution is typically only recommended for use on the upper eyelash area.

Using Latisse in your everyday life

Latisse is the first of its kind. It is a safe and gentle approach to maximizing the growth of eyelashes, enhancing your appearance and boosting your confidence.

If it is determined that Latisse can work for you, you will begin treatment by applying the product at the base of only your top eyelashes using an applicator with a drop of the Latisse solution on it. The treatment is applied on a daily basis to both eyes and can be continued every day.

When used on a daily basis, Latisse will gradually work to extend and fill out your lashes over the course of 8 to 16 weeks. To keep your lashes continually growing and filling in, you must use Latisse on a daily basis.

As with any product that is applied near the eye, there are precautions that must be considered. Latisse should not be placed directly into the eye, although the solution will not cause any damage if it comes in contact with the eye. With normal use, you may experience some itching and redness around your eyes.

If you wear contacts, you should remove them before treatment but can replace them in your eyes about 15 minutes after application. Additionally, you can use mascara normally.

The Dermatology Institute of Southern California wants to help you reach your fullest eyelash growth potential. As a caring and well experienced Board-Certified Doctor, Dr. Behroozan will help you determine if Latisse is right for you and will discuss any questions you may have regarding potential risks and side effects.

At the Dermatology Institute of Southern California, we are here to serve you and have two convenient office locations, with one in Beverly Hills and the other in Santa Monica. Deeply interested in your skin care and cosmetic needs, we provide services for clients from Bel Air, West Hollywood, Brentwood, West Los Angeles, Malibu, Culver City, Play Vista, Marina Del Rey and Pacific Palisades.
