Fraxel Re:Store is a revolutionary cosmetic laser treatment that can shave years off of your look by uncovering the natural youthfulness of your skin. Traditional laser treatments for improving the appearance of skin used to fall into one of two categories: ablative and nonablative. While both produce noticeable results, each has its own tradeoffs. Ablative treatments are more aggressive, requiring longer recovery periods, but the effects are often noticeable with fewer treatment sessions. Nonablative treatments are much gentler and avoid any removal of skin tissue, which allows for zero to minimal recovery time. Nonablative treatments, however, require multiple sessions to achieve optimal results.

How it Works
Fraxel lasers use a “fractional” technique that involves dividing the surface of the skin into microscopic treatment zones (MTZ), or columns. This allows the laser to target very specific parts of the skin while avoiding damage to any surrounding healthy skin tissues. Within each of these MTZs, the laser reaches deep beneath the skin’s surface to stimulate the natural production of collagen and new skin cells. By avoiding blanket treatment of all of the skin, the laser leaves the remainder of the cells intact and unaffected.
Only a topical anesthetic is needed for the procedure. Treating the full face typically takes 20 to 25 minutes. Patients may feel a mild stinging sensation during the procedure, but discomfort is minimal.
Recovery
Following the procedure, the skin may swell slightly and take on a pink or reddish tone, lasting no longer than one week. Make up can be applied immediately after the procedure and routine activities may be resumed. Over the first 1 to 2 weeks, the body will begin its natural process of replacing old skin with new tissue. The skin will first take on a bronze hue, followed by flaking and natural exfoliation as the dead skin cells are replaced by new skin that is tighter and creates a youthful glow.
A typical Fraxel Re:Store treatment series includes 3 to 5 sessions, with 2 to 4 weeks in between each treatment. Dr. Behroozan will work with each patient to determine the most appropriate regimen for achieving the desired results.
